These people are acting like some five year old child knows who the fuck Sasha Grey is. To them, she’s just some nice lady that’s come to read a story to them.

Yeah, seriously. A kid’s not gonna know who she is. And even if they did, who cares? Knowing about sex is just one more thing to know about. There’s nothing inherently wrong with knowing how sex works and such. And yeah, I highly doubt she did anything remotely sexual with the kids. What the fuck, patriarchy?

If your child knows who Sasha Grey is, you are the problem, not her.

Seriously, if you read the comments to the article linked above, you would think Sasha Grey was on a moral par with a serial killer. The level of slut shaming is astounding.

An perhaps unforeseen consequence of the way people are treating her, from the standpoint of people who think women should get out of porn, is this: if this is the sort of treatment ex-porn actors can expect, why would anyone ever leave it? All they are doing is encouraging people to stay in, even if it might actually be good to leave.

For my part, I don’t much care what Sasha Grey did prior to wanting to encourage children to read. If her presence in a school causes a disruption, maybe it’s not her fault—maybe it’s the fault of the adults who can’t stop thinking about the stuff she used to do.
